Spring Pictures

Just before Easter we had some new family pictures taken for Spring.  Savannah Kate was so happy for the photo shoot so I knew we would have some good pictures.  The pictures were taken by Coco and Peanut Photography at the Dallas Arboretum and they graciously gave me some digital files so that I could share them with you!

Mother's Day Weekend

For Mother's Day weekend, Hunter and I went to see Jerry Seinfeld on Friday night in downtown Dallas.  It was so fun and Jerry was hilarious!  We also hired a babysitter for the first time and she did great with Savannah Kate.  Saturday, we spent a family day together and watched the Kentucky Derby.  This is a big event in our house so it was fun to introduce this tradition to Savannah Kate.  Of course, she had to wear a big hat!

On Sunday, we drove to my Mammaw's house in Murfreesboro, Arkansas to have lunch with my family.  Mammaw is 84 years old and she says that Savannah Kate is the best baby she has ever seen.  That's coming from someone with a lot of experience!  Here is a picture of the three of us together on Mother's Day.

We had a Mother's Day dinner at my sister's new house.  It was fun to get all the kids together.  Savannah Kate and Charlie enjoyed rolling around and looking at each other and trying to chew on each other's pacifiers.  That night, Savannah Kate held her bottle all by herself - such a big girl!

Hunter had to go to Bentonville for a meeting on Monday so I stayed with my parents for a few days.  Savannah Kate enjoyed getting in the swing for the first time.  It was still pretty big for her, but she loved it!  Now I need to get one for our house.

One night Savannah Kate was fussy so Dad started playing the harmonica.  She just starred at him in awe of the music.  It was so cute.  She loved it so much so he just kept playing until she drifted off to sleep.  I guess I need to get a harmonica for those fussy nights!

Bubbles

Savannah Kate loved her Easter basket from Mimi and Pawpaw.  Inside were lots of toys, clothes, a swim suit, cookies (for me) and some bubbles.  I had never blown bubbles for her to see before so I knew that this would be fun.  Watch the video below this picture, her reaction was hilarious!  She wasn't sure what to think about those bubbles.  Since then I've been trying it again every now and then and I always get the same reaction :)

7 Months

Weight: 13 pounds 6 ounces
Height: 25 1/8 inches
Diapers: Size 2
Clothes: 3-6 months and 6 months
Sleep: 10-12 hours at night with 2 or 3 naps during the day
Current loves: putting anything and everything in her mouth, playing peekaboo, laughing at Belle and trying to figure out how to get Belle's hair in her mouth - Belle of course is not allowing this to happen
Dislikes: getting dressed, green vegetables and taking her out of the bathtub

It came so fast that I didn't even realize Savannah Kate was 7 months old this week.  The time is flying by - I always thought that was something that parents just said, but it really is true.  She is at such a fun age right now, really exploring the world around her and looking for new toys to play with.  She seriously wants to put everything in her mouth so I have to be careful with what is around her now.  Poor Belle doesn't understand why Savannah Kate wants to pull her hair so much.  She's also making lots of new sounds and I've definitely heard a "ma" sound - maybe it won't be much longer before she says mama!  She's been saying da da for awhile now.

Savannah Kate has started taking some formula everyday and seems to like it just fine.  She's also getting a few ounces of apple juice a day to help with her digestion.  She loves it and I bet it's nice to get something to drink besides milk everyday.  She eats food twice a day.  Usually a fruit and oatmeal or cereal in the morning and a fruit and vegetable in the evening.  I'm not sure how much actually gets swallowed, but she seems to be enjoying the process!  It always seems to end up in her hair, eyebrows, ears, etc...she loves everything about eating, except being wiped down afterwards.  She also doesn't care much for green vegetables so I've been mixing them with fruits and that seems to work for now.

She is finally sleeping now without being swaddled!  This was a huge adjustment to make over the last month, but we have finally accomplished our goal.  I was afraid I would be having to swaddle her until I could no longer find a swaddling blanket to fit.  I know this seems like a small milestone, but it was a big deal for us :)
